The basics

What does Gazecue do?

It is a teleprompter and camera in one app. You write or import a script, press record, and the text scrolls near the top of the screen, close to the front camera. You read while looking at the lens, and the take is saved in the app.

Is Gazecue free?

Yes. The download is free and so are unlimited scripts, the full prompter, prompt-only mode and takes up to 1:00 each. Videos you share or save from the free version carry a small “Made with Gazecue” mark.

Pro removes the mark and the time limit and adds mirror modes, split layouts, all themes, 60 fps and 4K, and keyboard and remote control. Compare Free and Pro.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your scripts and takes live on your device.

Which languages does the app speak?

The app is available in 34 languages. Scripts can be in any language your device can display, including right-to-left scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew.

The prompter

How do I set the speed?

In words per minute, from 60 to 300. The editor shows how long your script takes at that speed, so you know the length of the video before you record.

Which files can I import?

Plain text (.txt), Markdown (.md), rich text (.rtf) and PDF. You can also paste or type a script.

Can I use it without the camera?

Yes. Prompt-only mode shows the scrolling script and keeps the camera off. Use it for a speech, a live stream on another device or a rehearsal.

Does it work with a teleprompter glass rig?

Yes, with Pro. Mirror modes flip the text horizontally, vertically or both, so it reads correctly in the glass. Only the text flips. The camera image and your recording stay the right way round.

Can I control the prompter with a keyboard or a remote?

Yes, with Pro. A hardware keyboard or a Bluetooth page turner that sends keyboard keys can start and pause the scroll, move by line or page, change the speed and jump back to the start. See the key list.

Recording

How long can a take be?

Free takes stop at 1:00. The take is saved first, then it stops. With Pro there is no time limit.

Which video quality does it record?

1080p at 30 fps for everyone. Pro adds 1080p at 60 fps and 4K, where your iPhone or iPad camera supports it. You can use the front or the back camera.

What is the “Made with Gazecue” mark?

A small mark in the corner of videos you share or save from the free version. Playback inside the app is always clean. Because the mark is added only when a video leaves the app, upgrading to Pro also removes it from takes you already recorded.

Where are my videos stored?

In the app, on your device. You can play them back, share them, or save them to Photos. Nothing is uploaded to us.

Pro and billing

What does Pro cost?

$14.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, $2.99 a month, or $34.99 once for lifetime access. Prices in the US store; your price may differ. The app shows the price in your currency before you buy.

Will you remind me before the trial ends?

Yes. If you allow notifications, Gazecue reminds you the day before your free trial ends. You can cancel in your Apple account settings at any time before then and pay nothing.

How do I cancel a subscription?

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Gazecue. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to stop the next renewal.

I bought Pro on another device. How do I get it back?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases on the Pro screen in the app.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something does not work, write to support@eduardbruch.com first and we will help.
